Rufio trudged through the greenery, maybe being a little meaner to the animals then he had before. His aggression combined with the task he still felt subconsciously obligated to, still annoyed with the way things had turned out with the old pirate he'd met earlier in the evening.
The anger dissipated, however, when the fairy swooped down on him.
He started, instinctively lifting his sword, then paused and blinked before a broad grin stretched across his face, the gold sword flicking behind him as he bowed to the small being. It still wasn't as small as Tink, but maybe there was something special about the fairies of this world that made them so much bigger?
The real headline, and what made Rufio the most surprised, was the first observation that fell out of his mouth.
"You're a boy!"
Sheathing his sword Rufio went closer to get a better look. No kidding. First an adult sized fairy, now one that was smaller, but a boy? And with weapons. Those, and the angry challenge, made the Pan smirk. "I'm still bigger than you. But I won't fight you. Are you another fairy of the woods, then? Or of the buildings? I was starting to think there weren't any of your kind around at all, and now I've found two in one night!" Yes, Rufio was proud of himself for that.
