Fred didn't quite understand what the strange beasty wanted to communicate. She would have petted it if she thought it wouldn't hurt her. Actually, she carefully reached over and petted the furry spot on its head.
"There, there. It can't be all bad. There are ants everywhere. You could probably make a real pig of yourself here in the park. I think I saw an ant hill that could make your tummy very happy." The little "fella" seemed upset, but then the beasty could have always sounded disgruntled - there were animals and people like that. She just smiled, petting a little more before standing.
"Not really sure why I'm talking to you as if you understand me, but then it's the City. So, maybe you do. You don't look like a normal animal, so...or you could think I'm some freak two legged type who is getting all too touchy with you." She laughed, her hands falling to her side as she stepped back a little to look at it a little better.
