After the great hunt of Jack Napier, Jesse had needed some serious downtime. Not because he was tired, not because he didn't want to see anybody he'd helped, but it was a lot more responsibility than he'd allowed himself to have since he'd become what he was now. He'd healed a good number of people. People who more than likely had talked and discussed what had happened. If they gave any credence to what Harry said, they all knew. And Jesse didn't see why they wouldn't believe the guy, he was powerful in his own right, and didn't seem the type to lie or exaggerate.
He thought Zoe needed some time, as well. To think about what they'd done in the aftermath. It certainly hadn't been a bad thing, but he wasn't sure if she was doing it as an affirmation of life, or because she really felt that way. When the sun came up, he'd go to see her again, take her flowers, inform her that he wasn't just messing around with her.
For now, though, he was in a part of town he'd not been in a good long time. The docks weren't really the sort of area one went to just spend some alone time. Though, he supposed they'd cleaned up a good bit in the last few years. They weren't anywhere near as rough as they'd been when he first showed up. There were a lot less criminals around, at the same time. That could change, he supposed.
He was smoking a cigarette and looking at the water when he heard a giant splash. He'd stood up, worried at first that somebody had fallen in, though when he went back over the sound in his mind, he realized that humans just didn't make that much noise when they hit the water.
Jesse scanned the area, calmer, looking for cargo or something else.
What he saw kind of threw him. A big fucking white bear. Of all the things that he'd seen in this place, a stray polar bear was not one of them. Jesse grinned.
