The crone looked up slowly, still humming for a moment to finish the refrain. Her head tilted a little. Oh, she recognized him, but there was something different. Her brow rose as she noticed he was barefoot. How very interesting. She smiled at him.
"I don't believe you did. It's okay. You were..processing I believe is the term." She didn't stand up, but instead patted the bench beside her. "Do you want my name, or would you like to keep things mysterious?" Her eyes got wide before she laughed.
"Come, sit with me." She patted the bench again. "You seem different. But, I can't quite put my finger on it. Something has changed." She wasn't going to mention his feet, and his feet alone wouldn't explain it, would it? She didn't think so, but she could be wrong. Very rarely was she wrong, but she could be. She settled back to wait for him to sit and answer, now and then her eyes turning to the Park's grassy hills to check that there wasn't a chicken legged house roaming over them.
