"Okay, I haven't said anything about you kicking her out," Dinah said defensively. "That's not-" she sighed and shook her head. "Look, there's just a vibe, okay? Maybe you're missing that extra X chromosome so you haven't picked up on it, but I don't exactly feel welcome at your place these days."
She took a moment, still trying to sort out the best way to put things in this situation and coming up blank. Her hurt and frustration over the fact that Harry was just content to sit back and wait for the City to provide instead of actively trying to help Murphy job hunt and apartment hunt had been put on the backburner for too long.
"You do realize that the City doesn't always provide homes and jobs for people, right? I mean, look at Dean-he was living in motels before I offered him the apartment over the florist. And no, that's not a case of the City providing for him, because I know damn well that I have my own free will and the City wasn't mystically nudging me to offer to help the guy out. Have you and Murphy ever considered the fact that maybe she'll need to look for a job and a place to live?"
She was careful to keep her tone neutral, trying her best not to sound like she was accusing anyone of anything. She wasn't, really. She just thought they both seemed a little too willing to just let the situation continue on as it was.
