The tears spilled over now. Dinah still kept her eyes on the lake, not ready to meet Harry's eyes. The last few weeks had taken their toll on her, from every lead she'd looked into running dry to the fact that she'd been mostly avoiding Harry's as a result of Murphy's presence to the hurt over Harry and Murphy not seeming to be in any hurry to do anything to change their domestic situation.
She was worn out, and she still didn't know what to believe in regards to Jake.
"I don't know where else to look, who else to question," she said. "I feel like I've done everything I can and it's just not enough."
She finally swiped at the tears with the arm that held the stitches from that near miss gunshot wound she hadn't bothered to tell him about. It was then that she turned to look at him.
"You're right though. I can't just sit here and wallow. Not when Joker is still out there. Not without proof that Jake's..." she swallowed the word, still not quite able to say it. "I just wish I knew what it was that I'm missing here."
