Willow's eyes widened, then narrowed again. "Was?" she repeated. Spike could be an utter bastard at times, she was well aware, but in the end, he'd been there for them. He'd kidnapped her once, and threatened to bite her a few times, but... he'd also saved her life, and Buffy's. And he'd cared for Tara. "Did you do something to him?"
Her gaze sharpened again. This conversation was grating on her nerves a lot more than... well, maybe as much as she'd originally expected. He was a vampire, after all.
"Are you implying that I'm a witch, or that I'm the Willow that re-ensouled him?" she asked. "Because I didn't give him a soul. He went off and found it himself." That's what Buffy had said, anyway. Spike had been acting strangely, like he was insane. Sure, Willow knew she could perform the spell to ensoul a vampire. She'd done it to Angel once or twice. It had been the very first spell she'd completed.
She just didn't know if she wanted this guy knowing so much about her and her friends. And, for right now, she was including Spike in that category.
