Ted was waiting for the bus, too. Mostly because he didn't feel like walking all the way home. He'd managed to get pretty far away today, just wandering around. In all likelihood, he knew, the bus would just take him further, walking might result in the house being two streets away. But he just didn't feel like being on his feet anymore.
When the humming started, he glanced up.
It was mildly annoying, but nothing to comment on. But he took a second glance anyway. A very sudden one. Because the guy was green. Green. Actually green. His flesh was green.
Ted found himself staring.
The man doing the humming was in a very dapper state of dress, he seemed happy enough. But he was green. Ted was pretty sure it wasn't makeup of any kind. Not even that really fancy stage makeup they had. The green was just too uniform, too solid, too well covering, for it to be any kind of makeup. He snuck a glance at the hands and they, too, were green.
