The boy was stuck in a present that embraced commercialism, or more the garbage materialism/immediate gratification mentality that was partly the downfall of many Fables who lived in the Mundane world. Of course, she liked that sort of mentality at times because it was useful...and a little fun.
The coldness was quickly gone as they were allowed to discuss something she knew a little more about. An animal bite, indeed. There was an absent little licking of her lips as she could guess who had done the biting.
"Are you sure? I don't know how an animal could do that. A bat perhaps, or a very odd snake?" She tried to go to her toes to get a better look.
