"They do if they care about their loved ones." Baba tsked softly, very amused by his reaction. It was rare to see a man his size so very nervous around a woman her size, and she hadn't even pulled out any magic. She'd not done a bit. She looked up at him, wide eyed and somewhat innocent.
"I've been well. Had a few upsets, but I think I'm learning. I've even found a book full of stories I like. How's that for getting along well?" Yes, she did wonder a little how he'd react to a woman being able to read, or even admitting that she liked reading. He seemed the kind to be a little wary of an intelligent female. Then again, hadn't he asked her if she worked for his girlfriend? Baba would have to meet this young woman and find out what she did to this poor boy.
