Murphy lowered the weapon as the woman rushed to turn off the stove, but she certainly wasn't going to back down easily. It wasn't Molly, and it wasn't Elaine. How many other blondes could get into Harry's place? She couldn't think of any--but she had a feeling she was missing part of the picture and she didn't like it a bit.
"I could ask you the same thing," she said, bracing herself slightly and putting out a hand to Mouse as the big dog bounded over. Her eyes never left Blonde & Leggy. The woman was only wearing a man's shirt, for crying out loud. In all the years she'd known him, Murphy had never, ever walked in on a woman in Harry's apartment, though there had certainly been one or two. Not counting his apprentice. This was just absurd.
None the less, she had her cop face on, and spoke in the same tone she would have when dealing with an intruder or a suspect. Or maybe a potential witness. "My name is Karrin Murphy. I'm with the Chicago Metro Police Department, and I'm looking for Harry Dresden."
Never mind that she was suspended. She had every intention of letting Blondie know who was in charge here.
