"Nah, didn't haveta escape. Got booted out. Had a scarf that Didi made me that turned me regular. Like regular folk. No powers. No god status." Jesse realized he didn't remember if Progo had been around when Tia Dalma had done her thing. He didn't know if the cherubim knew about the new him or not. "So the City had me all locked up until I figured out how to get it off. Soon as it was off, I was out. But I know others escaped. Some got let out. We still don't quite know why it was done. Someone isn't happy 'bout it, though. People've been dyin, ones that worked there durin that time."
Jesse shook his head. He knew the cops were on it, so he wasn't going to interfere. They weren't just City cops, either, but ones that really wanted to know the why's of things. One of them, the woman, Jennifer, who lived in his building, he had great confidence in. He'd seen her photo in the newspaper article on the case.
He smiled, then, thinking of something else. "Hey, we gotta couple other angel types floatin around here now. Maybe y'all should meet."
