Shopping Frenzy (open)
Howl had spent the day shopping. It was probably the most enjoyable shopping trip he'd ever been on, once he figured out that he could have anything he wanted. All he had to do was reach in his pocket, and the exact amount of money he required was right there.
It had all started in a clothing store, catering to what appeared to be alternative lifestyles. Since Howl considered himself far too stylish for normal clothing, the place had immediately caught his eye. He found a jacket that that was nearly irresistible, and when the clerk asked if he would like to try it on, he reached into his pockets, intending to pull out his empty pockets to demonstrate his inability to purchase even so much as a button, let alone a whole jacket. He was startled to find just the right amount of money for the coat. It was all downhill from there.
Excited, he went from store to store, buying make-up and jewelry, and almost an entirely new wardrobe. If nothing else, this City was generous. Soon, he had more packages than he could carry, and decided it was time to drop them off at home. He took a long shower, annoying Calcifer to no end, who kept loudly trying to remind a suddenly deaf Howl that he no longer was required to do his bidding and didn't have to keep making hot water anymore. He then spent two more hours on his hair and make up, and another hour trying to decide which of his amazing new outfits he should wear first. Settling on something he read was "steampunk", not really having any kind of a concept yet what exactly that meant but knowing he looked incredible in it, he got dressed and headed back out.
Out of mere curiosity, he decided to stop in a shop hailing itself as The Magic Box. No wizard could possibly resist such a name, and as he entered the shop, he discovered it was exactly what it called itself. Like the proverbial child in a candy shop, Howl looked around the shop in amazement.
It looked like his shopping had just begun.
