Fred shrugged and looked around. "I don't think anyone would dream this place up; it'd be a little crazy if they did. Then again, if it is a dream, it makes you question your whole reality. What if you're just in the mind of someone? That would explain a few things, but nah, it's not a dream. Or it could be, but then we'd all be dreaming it. I mean, we'd all be self aware, which could get a little confusing. And, so what if it was a dream? For now you're kind of stuck in it."
The brainy female looked down at her feet and his, just thinking really. Then she looked back up at him. He looked a little as if something didn't match up. Oh, it wasn't that she was getting a special vibe from him, but he looked different. He didn't look like the people who obviously belonged to the City, but he didn't look like any of the other people she'd met. She was beginning to think this "not looking like anyone else she'd met" business was a marker that that person really did not belong to the City.
"This is new. This part of the Library. Didn't used to be here. Yeah, I don't think we're in a dream. Same brain thinking us all up, that'd be a very big brain. It'd drive someone crazy, maybe." Fred nodded. "Nice to meet you, Arthur." She did remember her manners sometimes.
