Jack grabbed the bouquet from Dinah and hugged it to his chest. "I love it!" He fished in his pocket and dumped a handful of crumpled bills on the counter. There were at least two hundred dollar bills in there. Smaller ones, too. He didn't care. "She'll love it!"
He danced around a little and then stopped next to the blond canary. He planted a kiss right on her face.
"You're brilliant, Dinah! Just brilliant." He was moving quickly, almost dancing with the flowers in hand. He twirled around her and then stopped, leaning close. He spoke quietly.
"You know. Before I liked black as much as I do, I had two other favorite colors. Wanna know what they were? Of course you do."
He leaned to one side and said "Green." Then to the other and said "Purple."
Then he was dancing out the door, having given her more clues than he'd originally intended, but quite happy with his final decision on that matter. Happy with the flowers, and formulating a plan on how to find Jake.
