George had heard them, but she'd stopped listening the moment she saw Simon sit down next to the nurse. She tried very hard not to look panicked.
"Millie."
It was reflex. Any time George didn't want to give out her real name she went with Millie. She knew it was stupid the moment she said it, but George lacked grace under pressure. She lacked grace when she wasn't under pressure, too. She didn't have a whole lot of tact, either.
George looked at the clock and realized she had exactly five minutes to think of something. She set her spoon down.
"Umm. I'll be right back."
She got up again and walked toward the table where Simon sat with the nurse.
"Hey you work at the hospital, right? Because I have this weird mutant mole and I was just wondering if you could look at it? Over there? Where the light doesn't suck. Not like, you have to do a full examination or anything but could you maybe just look at it because I used to tan all the time and skin cancer would.. uh... suck."
Of course, if Fred or The Doctor heard this, it might strike them as odd that she went to a table of strangers rather than ask someone who was called simply... The Doctor. George really sucked at this sneaky shit.
