Amy didn't get a chance to respond to what Arthur said. She jogged up ahead a few paces, looking both ways hoping to get a glimpse of a familiar blue box.
Instead there was an unexpected wave of foot traffic that made it hard to keep sight of Arthur; especially since most of the people in the crowd were dressed in suits and pencil skirts with blazers. Amy wasn't claustrophobic, but this was quickly becoming uncomfortable. She hadn't realized just how many people there were at first. Trying to walk between strangers in the crowd was close to impossible as she was sandwiched between bodies all moving in a direction she had no intention of going.
"Hey! HEY. Excuse me? Excuse me!"
Amy looked back and forth, "Arthur!"
But the streets were also shifting. The City, it seemed, intended to separate them as she was nearly carried away by the flow of pedestrian traffic.
