Ted liked knowing that Charlie was out there. Finding the bad guys. Putting an end to things like people eating the hearts of other people. It made him feel better. Really, he would have liked if things like that didn't happen at all. But if he couldn't have that, then he might as well have Charlie. Because Charlie could figure things out. He never gave up. He was tenacious. And capable.
"I believe you." He said in reply to Charlie's assurances. Really, it didn't need to be said. But Ted liked that it was. It meant that he didn't have to worry about it. Which he would have done, despite knowing it was Charlie's case.
Ted smiled a little bit. "When do we not have fruit, Charlie?"
Since getting out of prison, it was most of what his friend consumed. There were times when Ted actually worried about the sheer volume of fruit going through Charlie's system. Not only could it introduce a lot of sugar that might make him crash hard, but it could lead to intestinal issues. Loose intestinal issues. Which was something that he didn't feel he needed to know about. But he still worried.
"Got pretty much right back to work then?" Ted didn't feel like he had to finish that with a qualifying statement of after getting out of the asylum. He'd seen just how much Charlie hated it in there. He hadn't been too happy about it either. The experience bothered him. More than prison had. He could only imagine what it had been like for the man who had spent most of his prison term in solitary.
