Ted hadn't seen Charlie since the asylum. A place he didn't like to think about at all. But he did manage to go about a routine of sorts. Getting up at the same time every day. Reading what there was of the newspaper. Checking money growth using the internet. Then going out and wandering around the City. Trying to discover new things and new people. Or old friends. Whichever happened.
Usually there was breakfast in there.
Today, there was Charlie.
Ted couldn't really express how glad he was to see his friend in the kitchen. It was like old times again. Just like how things were supposed to be. He was engaging in a fruit. Also as per the norm. It brought a good deal of happiness and contentment to Ted, but he managed to keep it cool. Managed to enter the kitchen as if it were just any other day. Like things were as normal as they could be.
"Bite what heart?" That was a little disturbing to think about, really. But Ted felt it was better to ask about what Charlie was saying instead of gushing over how much he'd missed the guy.
He got a coffee mug from the cabinet and turned on the maker.
