Castiel was astonished that Dean knew of his relation to Gabriel, which was (had been) admittedly closer than his connection with other angels, who all used the honorific 'brother,' like monks. Castiel had meant something a little closer to Dean's use of the term, at least he had when he was very young and Gabriel was still a messenger of God. Not once did he think Dean was lying, however. Something changed in his eyes. His mouth didn't move, the line between his brows persisted, but the being behind Jimmy Novak's eyes felt a blow. "Gabriel died?"
He fell back under the poking and prodding, unresisting, the familiar suit and coat giving with the same resistance it always had. "I did not bring you here, Dean. I am not all powerful; I cannot leave either."
