Simon's eyes narrowed slightly, and his head turned slightly, just enough to say "Get out." to the orderly. It wasn't a barked command, but the orderly rushed out as if he were worried about the reprisal for staying too long. Then again, he was standing with one known dangerous mind and another who seemed capable of danger even if he wasn't exactly known for it, zombie making aside.
"You didn't think I truly enjoyed working with you? Working, as much as I hate to say that I would ever enjoy the things we did to that poor creature, was what I enjoyed. The experimentation, not the company. I assure you, you were not what I returned for." Simon's cheeks didn't turn red. Only his voice indicated any anger, and that was from the quick coldness to it. "So, do spare me the sarcasm."
Dr. Tam glared coldly at the monster who sat so comfortably at his desk in his empty office. There was a slight brow raise at the list of things Dr. Lecter was currently involved in.
"So, you are given an office to sit in while I work. I may not be head, but I am one of the hardest working doctors there. My 'severely stunted social skills' are more than enough to save people's lives. While you're budding and assisting, I am doing." Simon hadn't realized he was leaning on and over Hannibal's desk until he looked down. He stepped back, teeth clenched. He didn't like that the other doctor could get a reaction so easily from him; it was a weakness, one he'd have to see to.
"Though, if the City does see me as lacking, it does not seem to want me to learn any social skills from you, or it would surely put us together. Even if one of us or both of us were to die from it." Simon didn't seem all that bothered with that last bit. There were days he could believe that he would die taking down Hannibal, or that he would willing die in that way.
If they were friends, Simon would have mentioned Jennifer by now. He would have asked about River. If these two were friends, Simon would have settled into a chair and sat quietly, enjoying the silence. But, they weren't friends, so Simon didn't sit. He stood, rigidly.
"I'll have those removed when you've gone. Or you may do it." Simon turned to go, then stopped. "Where's Jack?"
