She took in everything he was saying. Two sounded right to her. Two people doing this to two other people. Two people that they were going to have to get to know before they could get to the other two. A prospect that unnerved her a little bit.
Her mind went into overdrive when he mentioned cannibals. The eating of the heart could be really anything. The act of a cannibal. Something ritualistic. Black magic. Curiosity. It wasn't that part of it all that got her going. There were too many variables to pin it on a cannibal right now. Especially with the rest of it. Nothing else had been eaten. As far as she knew, cannibals ate more than just a bite of the heart.
She was quiet as Charlie spoke to the techs. She agreed with his decisions to have photos of the rest of the house. She'd probably come back here once or twice to be immersed in the people who had lived here. But having the photos meant that they could stare at them in the comfort of their office. At any time. Day or night.
When Charlie was finished, Jennifer blinked at him. She was silent for a few more beats and then spoke. "I know somebody who can cover both of those needs."
