Charlie moved closer to see what Jennifer had found, or hadn't found. No face? Broken puppets and empty dolls? He didn't wince when he saw it; he just stared at the exposed muscles.
"They...don't..match." Charlie stood and took a few steps away, so that he could actually look at the scene as a whole. He needed to see it all working together. His hands slid into his pockets, and if anyone didn't know him, they might think he was looking at a piece of art, inspecting it, looking at it. He'd been up close, now he needed to be away.
"She looks like she was played with, made to move. He looks like the killer wanted him still - he's at the table, she's on the floor." He turned to look at the CSI type. "The heart. Was it taken out of the man's chest then put back in? Or is that something we've got to wait on?"
Charlie just looked over the scene before turning his attention to the rest of the apartment again. "Do they look the same? Do they match?" The house looked like it was lived in by one set of people, as if things matched. "Does she have anything missing?"
The crime scene investigator blinked. "Well, they both seem to be missing hair?"
"No, what? Well, yes, that is missing something, but they could be balding. It happens to women too." He put that fact away for now. "Do pieces of her have bite marks?"
