Charlie gave Jennifer a quick barely there wink, glad to know that she was okay. Perhaps they'd have a discussion about their most recent craziness, but really the detective would prefer to forget about it, what he could remember. He followed the officer, looking at everything and taking it in. It was the only way they'd solve a case. Oddly, this really was one of their first cases together. The last big case he'd had he'd ended up working on mostly alone and had met Batman...
His head tilted this way and that. He wished he really did have an apple or smoothie; this was harder to do without something to play with. He listened somewhat to the officer, but he was more focused on what was around them than the man's words. Charlie even spared the man a smile as he left them to start doing their jobs.
"You too. I think they had a copy of Cat Fancy; you don't think they were killed for being cat fanciers, do you?" It was a quick odd remark, and Charlie highly doubted the pair, what there was of them, had been targeted for their feline affections. He put on the booties, more to perserve evidence than to prevent ruining his shoes. Charlie wasn't that attached to his clothes. He handed over a pair of booties to his partner. They should have gotten them earlier, but really the blood, guts and gore didn't start until they got to this point..literally.
One of the crime scene types stepped from her spot near the female's body, which looked like someone had tried to open her up like a biolab frog if biolab frogs were also posed to show just how muscles could work when dancing, to speak with Jen and Charlie.
"M.E." She motioned to the side where a young man was currently losing his overnight meal, "couldn't give t.o.d. Rigor mortis hasn't set in, the blood's not clotting properly, and the bodies are both still relatively warm. Something's been done to them." She didn't seem phased by the scene that surrounded her. "But, they're definitely dead. No pulse at all."
Charlie glanced at Jen. "Seen anything like this?" He'd seen some strange things, but this...thankfully, while he could be rather irreverent, he didn't have to say something ridiculous, making a pun on the scene - not unless he really wanted to.
