"I don't need to take revenge for myself." He told her, honestly. There was no need for them to lie to each other now. Not after all they had shared. And not with what they were about to share. "My revenge comes for those I care for. For those who would not act on their own behalf. Her name is River. She was harmed by their hands."
There was Lestat as well. But Hannibal was fairly sure that the vampire would be more than willing to take out his tormentors should he be faced with them. River would not. Not out of revenge. She would have, had they threatened her while she was there and she were free. But it was not in her to act after the fact.
Even if it had been, he would not let her.
"I took my pleasures while I was there." He smiled at her, remembering those that he had caused great harm to while restrained and believed to be docile. While they thought he was drugged enough to be kept like a pet.
His thumb traced a line by her eye. As if he could erase her anger by doing so. "You take it for yourself." He didn't ask the question, he didn't have to. He knew. He knew her actions were only for her. She wanted to see the pain because she had been in pain.
He began to walk toward the couple again. Falling into an easy stride, pretending to be carefree and unconscious of those around him.
