Jake lowered the plate as he recognized the name. Barbara had mentioned Dunah before, referring to the woman as her second-in-command. There was no sense of danger, no hostility. Simple confusion all around. His other hand touched Oy, telling the bumbler to relax. Oy stopped his growl and settled down, keeping his eyes on the woman.
"She's my mother," Jake said, softly. "She's down the hall. Did she let you in?"
He was confused. He couldn't sense Babs in the tower. They were still in the City, he knew, but it felt so different. "What's going on?"
