Jesse nodded a little. "Superman's been here." More than once, he was fairly sure. And not the same guy each time. That was a thing that was really hard to explain to people, so he just left it out for now.
"She's doin fine, far as I know." He was a little curious now about the writing on walls and hiding under tables. But he thought that he might ask her directly. That seemed like something a girl would want to say for herself and not have it be heard from other mouths.
Not to mention now Lorne was asking about Spike. "Little red headed witch girl put it in him. He was miserable with it. It wasn't his ... thing. I don't know if I can really explain it to ya right. But you know when somebody's got somethin that don't fit right. He just wasn't meant to have one. I thought about it real long and hard before I did it. Got warned that he wasn't a nice guy. I said I'd be responsible. But I just couldn't let it sit in there."
Jesse shook his head. He remembered very clearly. All of it.
"How is a little bit of a diff'rent thing. More complicated, guess you'd say. Basically, I just reached in and took it. I got the power to do that and a whole lot more." He shrugged it off. It was nothing new to be telling people, but he was starting to wonder how many people he should be telling. If he didn't want to be responsible for things, if he didn't want people looking at him as if he were actually God, at least of this place, should he be letting them all know what he could do?
