"I met her in the City. She's something else. She's in law enforcement, and she's just...amazing. The thing is, I don't really know how she feels about me. And we haven't really done anything that would be considered 'seeing' each other. If I'm using the term correctly. We've never really been out on a date. I've been to her house. We haven't...we aren't.." Simon sighed in frustration and shrugged.
"I don't know what we are. And there's this girl. I knew her from before. Only she's not the same person I knew because she's from my future and I'm from her past. Apparently, she and I were intimate." He winced. "Sorry, more information than you needed, but she has feelings I don't exactly have for her. I care about her, but not the same way." Simon's shoulders fell; he really didn't know what to do with all this, and he hadn't really had a chance to talk to anyone about it. It wasn't like he had much in the way of male friends, or friends in general.
"I just don't know." He looked down at his cup of coffee. "I came in to see if I could get that girl's contact information." He looked at the barista. "Not because I wanted to cheat on the first girl, but I don't know if you can cheat on someone you aren't dating."
