Logan closed his eyes. He hated this. Hated her voice getting quiet like that. Hated telling her something that would bring no good. He half-considered telling her that he hadn't seen the shooter, but he knew she'd figure out he was lying. And he didn't want to lie to her. He'd done it in the past and it was never something he felt good about. Not to mention that not being honest with her was the reason they'd broken up in the first place.
No, he was going to just have to get through this.
"Sorokin. Apparently he was just as well-connected as you thought. At the very least, he's a crack shot," Logan said with a stifled laugh.
It wasn't funny, but something had to break the tension.
