Logan walked over to the dresser and pulled a shirt out of the drawer. He kept his back to Veronica, in an attempt to make her feel more comfortable. Then again, it's not like it was anything she hadn't seen before.
He closed his eyes at Veronica's question. Well, that was restraint. It had taken her all of ten minutes to dig into the gaps in his story. Logan pulled on his new shirt and gave himself a moment before he turned to face her.
Giving up information to help figure out what had happened to Veronica. Hell, if she was dead too, he wasn't sure either of them needed to know that.
But then again, he knew full well that keeping things from Veronica was just a recipe for trouble. Even so, he wanted to try. Logan met her eyes. He tried to give her access to see that he was being sincere.
"Would you trust me if I told you that it's not something you want to know about?"
No. The answer would be no. He knew that, but he had to try anyway.
