Logan noticed her hesitation and almost took his hand back, but luckily she took the offered hand. He smiled to himself as his fingers wove through hers.
Logan grinned at her gentle ribbing.
"Well, the hippy hair takes awhile, you see. But I've been practicing that whole drinking wine from a bag thing."
Without thinking, Logan had started to lead the way towards the campus housing. He didn't relish the idea of walking around in the shirt advertising that he was an employee of the City Institute for a start. Not to mention that the February air was a little chilly for a nice stroll around campus.
"Campus housing, and roommate from hell to boot," Logan said with an overly cheerful grin. "So, wait, if you don't have a job, then where are you living?" he asked Veronica, his brow furrowing with concern. And how was she getting food, for that matter?
For a moment of panic, Logan ran through all the ways he could sneak food out of the cafeteria under his boss' nose. Then he realized that Veronica must have been getting by just fine, since she had been here longer than he was and didn't appear to be dying of starvation.
