Wes settled in for a couple of hours to watch over the motionless Fray while the muscle relaxant went to work. He had to make sure no one took advantage of the fact that she was oblivious to the world.
He didn't want her hurt; he just wanted to throw a vampire at her while her powers were gone. Right. Well, he didn't make the rules or the training. It had worked for centuries, so why not give it a shot?
It wouldn't happen like Buffy's did; he heard all about that one from the Council. He would do his best to refrain from interfering and he also wouldn't be locking Fray in a room with a vampire. He would just call one to the area and tell her to fight it for training.
And see how she did without just beating it to a pulp. She had to be clever as well as strong. He had no doubt she was capable but she seemed a little straightforward sometimes, a little simple. Not simple as it brain-damaged or anything, just not used to coming at a problem sideways when head first would do the trick. Head first was easier to come up with but took far more effort. Sideways could avoid injury and even death. Sometimes.
Hence today's lesson.
Wes checked his watch and sighed. It was going to be a long afternoon. And he hoped she didn't hate him afterwards, or at least didn't try to torture him to death. Once was enough, thanks. He could deal with being yelled at, but he did not want to get into a physical altercation with his Slayer.
He would lose. End of story.
Well, he did warn her training was going to get significantly harder today. He hoped she remembered that when this was all over.
