Fred actually gave a little squeal as he said he really was. Of course, she could have fallen and hit her head, or really and truly finally gone round the bend, but she didn't think so. She'd already been to Bates motel, and she knew Barbara Gordon was certainly a name she'd heard in some book, or tv show. Her lips pursed as her mind raced through possibilities, and it came back to the one that seemed the most obvious.
"Yes. Well, I've been a few places, yeah. Never any voluntary. My suggestion is never read a book that doesn' contain many vowels. Woosh, right off to a diamension where humans are kept as cattle. Sorta like Planet of the Apes, but there weren't any apes really, and the people in control are really green demons. So, uhm..yeah, I know bout you. Sorta. Well, not you. I've never seen you before, but I know about the others before you. My favorite is Two, but I sorta like Three and One. Never cared for Four, which I guess is probably some sorta sacrilige or somethin'. Then there's Five...I think I sorta stopped catching it somewhere in there. Uhm..I'm Fred." She held out her hand; maybe a change in subject would cover the whole how she knew what. "This is the City. It sucks you in and then you can't get free."
Fred gave a weak smile, knowing that he was going to ask more questions. She would if someone had some how said the same thing about her, not that they could because she had been many people. Nope, she'd only been just the one Fred.
