Simon smiled softly, his hands resting now on her shoulders, just a soft squeeze and a rub. He supposed he understood.
"I didn't mean to scare you, Kaylee. I just want to make sure there are no lasting side effects. I'm not sure what was done in there." He rubbed her shoulders again before rubbing he sides of her arms and letting his hands drop. "I was in there too. I should have looked for you and River, everyone. I didn't think about anything other than myself. I'm sorry." Apologizing to her would have to do for now.
"We can go to the hospital. I'll sit in the room with you, but I think it would be better if you had someone else look you over. I'll make sure they don't do anything they shouldn't, okay?" Simon tried to give her his most reassuring smile. He even went so far as to offer his arm. "I know you don't like those places, but once it's over we can go looking for someone else, okay? Maybe get some ice cream on the way?" He wasn't talking down to her; he was just trying to make her feel better.
