Jennifer had to smile. This was the strangest thing he'd been through? He was definitely new to this place, then. It kind of sucked for him that the Asylum was his introduction to The City, but she supposed that there wasn't anything to do about it now. At least he'd know to avoid the place in the future.
"Actually, this is the asylum. Arkham. Arkham Asylum." She knew the significance because she'd done some studying. She had no idea if John Watson would be any better with the pop culture than she was. "The hospital is elsewhere."
Oh... the hospital.... oh no... Simon.... Jennifer realized that she hadn't thought of Simon the entire time she'd been here. Not once. She didn't know if he was here, or if he'd been here and left... she didn't have any idea if he was one of the ones wandering around. And what about Jake? Would they put a cat in a place like this? He was still a cat, though he had those abilities. Poor Jake.
Jennifer kind of felt like a heel.
She sighed. "I'm afraid, John, that it's not going to sound any more sane coming from me. I'm not sure what the nurse told you, but this place is called The City. And it's fucked up, John. It's really fucked up."
