"Doctor Brennan." Hannibal said, his voice low and soothing. The voice he used to talk to colleagues in the medical field. "I am Doctor Lecter, I work at the City Hospital. We've received something that I very much need your help on. It's outside of my current knowledge, and I have many forces breathing down my neck for answers. I can either bring it to you, or you can come here to examine it. Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated. I would owe you one."
Hannibal looked at his problem as he spoke of it to the doctor on the other end of the line. It was maddening. He kept telling himself that he could learn things by going and observing, even if it did bother him so much that he didn't already know.
He'd done everything that he could do, however. Done it and redone it, and done it again. And come up with nothing.
Hannibal knew that he needed to swallow his pride and just go. If she accepted his need, and agreed to help, he needed to go and learn. She had knowledge he did not, and the only way to acquire it was to become an intern once more.
