Jennifer didn't know enough to be unhappy with her current situation. Not only had she never been locked up anywhere in her life, but she was also plied with enough medications that it made her head feel floaty and she generally felt pretty pleasant. She took the medications when they came to her in a small paper cup and the feelings of relaxation and uncaring reintensified. In the first ten to twenty minutes of it, she usually just sat where she was and smiled.
When they'd calmed down a bit, she would get up and explore.
She really liked the courtyard. It opened up into the sun. There were places to sit and little trees. Sometimes there were other people, too. But she really hadn't talked to them before. Today she felt particularly happy, though. Kind of giddy, actually. The drugs were running warm through her blood and she was in a generally good mood.
So maybe she'd make a friend.
The person who got her attention was very peculiar indeed. Not quite a normal color on his skin, and his hair was funny. Funny in the way of being weird, but also hilarious. And his ears...
Jennifer walked up to him, inspecting the side of his head as he gazed up into the sun. She narrowed her eyes at him, trying to figure it out. A finger was poised to touch as she spoke.
