"OH BRILLIANT!" Jack exclaimed the words with the joy of a child who'd just been introduced to ice cream and balloons at a brightly lit county fair. There was such pleasure and happiness filling his heart that it leaked out of his mouth unabashedly.
Railroad spikes.
RAILROAD. SPIKES.
It was a deliriously good idea. Jack was certain now that he needed to have Spike as a cohort. If the man could think up something so cruel as to torture somebody with a railroad spike, they were okay in Jack's book.
"Were they rusty?" He couldn't help but ask.
He hoped they were rusty.
Jagged, rusty, and filled with.. well they couldn't really be filled with anything, could they? They were solid things. Not like syringes or pastries.
Jack had certainly stumbled over villainy good, though. Yes he had.
"You and me, blondie, we're going to have some fun. Yes we are. You and me, nobody will ever expect that. And that is where the fun is."
