The crone had felt the strange pull in the City's energies when it started. She'd actually given into her house and stayed the night inside. It was warm and cozy, and she got a hell of a good night's sleep. For the most part. She'd been fixing a little something to nibble on, not children, when the City decided to get creative. Creative and the city were not a good mix. A soft word or three, and she was soon walking out of a door that hadn't been there moments before and wouldn't be there by the time she'd closed it behind her.
A brow lifted as she saw them, created out of nothing, well, almost nothing. Just there. They were slightly better than the Cupids, and they didn't look to be after anything, not exactly. None of them seemed to notice her, or more they kept a wide berth of her. Had the City ingrained within their magical DNA the need to avoid her? Whatever it had done, the men, who weren't that much shorter than she, kept their distance. She followed them absently.
It wasn't until she came up the howling beast that it finally clicked. Perhaps he had told her, perhaps he hadn't. But, what he felt like finally settled into place. He was luck and money and so many other things. Today, much like their first meeting, she was in a bit of frill and breezy - a simple sundress, simple sandals. To those who didn't know, she was a fresh faced young woman. To others, she was probably damn close to a nightmare. For the leprechauns? Well, that still remained to be seen. Of course, she was considering keeping one or two for Dexter to play with. The boy would probably enjoy it.
"Mm, interesting togs. Who knew they came in big boys' sizes?"
