Ace had left the castle right when someone had started attacking it. She saw no reason to get caught up in some fight she knew nothing about. She and Harley might be mates, but that didn’t mean she was the good guy in this. One thing she had learned in her travels with the Professor was that just because you liked someone, it didn’t mean they were on the right side.
She walked to the park and noticed that there were tables and people and all the fixings for a huge community picnic. Ace thought that was wicked cool. It was one of the very few things she missed about Perivale. They would have these kinds of picnics at least twice a year. She somehow always managed to have fun.
Grinning, the young British woman went over to an unoccupied table and put down her boom box. She didn’t think any of the modifications the Doctor had made to it would be of any danger to the folks gathered for the picnic. Sitting down, she turned on some of her favorite jazz and leaned back against the table.
If things followed their usual path, it wouldn’t be long now before she would be needed to help save the planet. Again. Wicked.
