Jake was a little disappointed that she was more interested in Charlie's soup than his own (it was homemade!) but he didn't let it show. He had the benefit of being a cat and only being able to perform limited facial expressions that humans would understand. Besides, he had tuna now.
He hopped up onto the coffee table and began licking the tuna fillet. Mmm. Even better than tuna in a can. This guy was good. A keeper. He would have to tell Jennifer that after he left.
"Pleased to meet you acquaintance," Jake said in between munching bites of tuna. "Yes, I made soup. Feel free to help yourself. And the kettle is on. Unless you prefer coffee. But Jennifer doesn't need the excess caffeine."
