There was laughter from somewhere near her. Laughter? Betty didn't hear anyone speaking to think there was a joke being shared. She also didn't really see that many people around her where she could chalk it up as someone having done something funny. Was it her? Was she doing something funny? Was he laughing at her?
Betty turned her head and narrowed her eyes. "What's so funny?" She really hoped it wasn't her, she didn't think there was anything she was doing that was particularly funny. There wasn't anything humorous about feeding ducks chunks of her bagel.
She had asked her question as politely as she could manage. There was little point in being mean.
