Mel sighed. "Yeah, just... rocketship graceful is all."
She sat up, gathering the shoe box back into the bag, pursing her lips slightly, and then got to her feet, pulling her legs under her in a swift, almost martial-arts movement. When she stood, she locked eyes with the girl who'd asked after her. Really pretty, Mel decided; put together the way Erin always hoped she'd be put together (which was to say she looked like a girl, and not like Mel.)
She managed a smile that was more confident and more her than the tripping and falling down. "Thanks."
