If Dr. McCoy were there he would have been shaking his head at Spock's butchering of the human colloquialism. And, no doubt, making some foolish comment leaving little to be desired by the Vulcan's intellect. But, truth be told, Spock felt a bit of remorse at the silence that followed his words. He'd become all too accustomed to the complaints and jeers of his human shipmates.
Spock glanced back towards the rear of the store where the clerk had run off and not yet returned. Curious. Then he diverted his attentions back to the young woman.
"I apologize for my lack of introduction. I am Spock of the Starship Enterprise."
