Guy looked at his hand; the tiny hole from the splinter was not even visible. He didn’t see any need to wrap a bandage around his hand for such a tiny wound. Though it might make his doctor feel better if his grip on his sword was impaired somewhat. She seemed uneasy around his weapon. There must not be many armed men where she came from.
“I think we can skip any bandaging. But thank you for your help,” he said, smiling. “You are a fine physician, Doctor Cameron. I am sorry I doubted your abilities.”
He still felt a little funny calling a woman ‘doctor’, but she had done a very good job with his hand, so maybe it was all different now. He did recall a rumor that the Saracen woman that traveled with Hood knew something of medicine, so he knew a female mind could grasp the complexities of being a physician. He wondered what sort of position Marian would seek in such an open society.
“Before we watch these movies, could I trouble you for some water?” Guy smiled at her again. “All that growling I was doing has dried my throat. And perhaps something to eat, if it’s not too much trouble.”
