Ace grinned as she watched all the lights on the console blink on and off. And the green mist under the floor was too wicked! She was barely listening to the Doctor as he answered all her questions. There was just too much to see in this new control room to give him her undivided attention. Not that she ever had before, anyway.
She was glad that the Master wasn’t involved in this place. If he were he would be out here gloating by now. He was a right bastard that was never easy to deal with. Ace thought he was scary as hell, too. She actually preferred the Daleks to the Master. Most of the time anyway.
She wasn’t surprised to hear that the Professor had found friends here. He was always making mates with the natives no matter where they ended up. She always thought that was one of those Time Lord gifts, like the whole every-alien-species-on-every-planet-speaks-English thing. And if he was between companions, he was going to need her.
“Do I want to take another Journey?” she repeated. Looking for the lever to close the door. “Too right, I do. Oi, can I drive?”
