"It's okay," she said. Shaking her head affirmatively Death continued, "You're not dead. That's what I came to talk to you about. You were killed, but you're still very much alive. It seems you won't be moving on quite yet."
Her lips formed a smile without meaning. "It's nothing to be concerned about. I mean, it is and I'm not trying to be insensitive but..."
Death exhaled and her complexion warmed like condensation spreading over glass. Something about her now looked less out of place and more alive than before. She ruffed her hair as if trying to shake the confusion from her mind. Leaning forward she grabbed one of the chocolates and popped it into her mouth.
"Mm! That is really good."
Didi beamed.
"That last thought really got away from me, huh? What I'm trying to say is, now's a good time as any to just live a little. I'm Didi."
