Well, that was a relatively simple explanation for how she knew Dexter then. It didn't really explain how he considered her a best friend, but it explained a lot. Now whether he was the cause of the death, wherein she had to reap a soul, or was nearby, it was hard to say.
Though the way he phrased it certainly made it seem that he was the cause of the death. Which made him a dangerous person, unless by working for the cops it was an accidental death.
But it didn't feel that way.
Betty supposed it didn't matter. It wasn't like Dexter was a threat to her or anything. Good for George, having a friend. So she smiled and nodded at Dexter in understanding. "Of course she did, sweetie. It's what we do."
She wondered if she was going to end up reaping for him as well some day. As far as Betty knew, no neither she nor George were assigned to him, if he required someone assigned to him, so it was fair game. Granted, work had been slim lately. Not many deaths.
