"Yes, we worked together." Betty smiled brightly, obviously quite proud of the fact that she'd worked with George before. They'd worked together lots of times, actually. "It was mostly for training purposes." That sounded better than saying that Rube had her babysitting the young reaper. Though that was what it had been, Betty stopped seeing it that way. She viewed it as sharing her expertise with another and Betty was an expert.
She was damn good at what she did and she knew it.
Betty considered taking a photograph of Dexter, but realized she had neither a camera nor any of her stacks of photos. She had put them into George's capable hands before she leaped from reality to this place. Maybe it was time to buy a new camera, because she certainly enjoyed taking pictures of people, whether she reaped them or not. She enjoyed classifying people.
She was curious about people, curious in general actually, and wanted to know more about the fascinating looking man before her. It would start with her asking more about how he knew George. "So how did you two meet? How do you know her?" It was prying and being nosy, but Betty liked those sorts of questions.
