"That must be the other one I smelled," said Blind Seer.
Firekeeper shrugged. "He is not really blind. There is another here? Thought only us. And Charlie. And you." She looked dourly at Blind Seer, plainly out of sorts with him.
"She only just arrived," Blind Seer assured her. "When I left you to sleep. She smelled... unpleasant. Like blood and pain and fear."
"Ah. Is new." She looked back at Ted. "When very cold. But not stay often. Prefer outdoors. But sleep away from weather is nice, and shower..." she trailed off, suddenly looking impressed and astonished. "Is useful." Back in Hawk Haven, she'd been impressed with heated water in tubs. To have it come out of a strange little surface like rain, but warm and with no mud to deal with afterwards, was... well, she wouldn't use the word "magic". Magic implied something else, something unsavory.
